    ADHD v2 (Fulltone OCD Ge)

You know, I have gotten a couple bad ones lately. all seem to be functioning. I noticed something curious... and if this is a "duh, it's supposed to be that way" I apologize... I'm getting voltage on every jfet pin... (more or less 4.2-4.5 volts)... I can pull the jfets out of socket and the...

    ADHD v2 (Fulltone OCD Ge)

and to be honest, I want it to sound BETTER. I made a "Boteh" (paisley drive) and it absolutely smokes the real deal side to side in comparison...

    ADHD v2 (Fulltone OCD Ge)

I'm building it for a friend of mine who loves his version 1.7 ocd. I told him I'd take a shot at my own and I have his for comparison... To me the one I built just doesn't sound nearly as close as I'd like it to. Just seems almost Klon-like, in that the distortion is buried below a cleaner...

SOLVED ADHD doesn't sound like an OCD (weaker gain less body/fatness)

I've been fiddling with it. To me it sounds ok if you crank the drive full blast, but it's almost like a bit of the clean signal is passing through... almost like a klon or bluesbreaker... I pulled each mosfet individually while playing and the gain doesn't change noticeably... because it's...

    ADHD v2 (Fulltone OCD Ge)

Here's a little better photo of the board. I thought I had found a bridge Here's a little better gut shot. I THOUGHT I found the issue, a solder bridge between two sockets on one of the mosfets, but it was a little glob of Flux paste... My understanding is in this circuit that any issue between...

    ADHD v2 (Fulltone OCD Ge)

I just finished building my OCD. It sounds good, but compared to a real one, it's very weak in drive and doesn't have the (pardon the term) "girth" of the OCD v1.7 I have for comparison... It sounds more like a Bluesbreaker, as if the clipping and the overall body is missing from the sound. my...

SOLVED ADHD doesn't sound like an OCD (weaker gain less body/fatness)

It is... I THINK I had to use a 50v because I was low on 25v's (have more coming). I'll double check it when I get home... Voltage rating shouldn't matter shouldn't it, so long as it's not under spec?

    ADHD Low Output

any resolution to this? I just finished building one and it's lacking gain and "body"... Pedal sounds good, but not as good as the genuine one I gave for testing... it's like mine has much lower volume, gain, and doesn't have the big fat sound. I'm building it for a friend as an improvement to...

SOLVED ADHD doesn't sound like an OCD (weaker gain less body/fatness)

That's my plan. I have to build at night after work and the family goes to bed, so I'll have to look it over later. The build docs aren't available yet but so far I've seen two schematics shared, both different. I built it using the values listed on the pcb, but apparently this pcb is capable of...

SOLVED ADHD doesn't sound like an OCD (weaker gain less body/fatness)

Just finished an ADHD build for a friend. This is the newest version of the PCB. My buddy loaned me his v 1.7 OCD to compare once finished... The Pedal sounds great, but is extremely lacking in volume, fatness, and gain... I went back and checked the transistors and silly stuff. All solder...

    ADHD v2 (Fulltone OCD Ge)

Just curious as to the benefits of the buffer opposed to just wiring it true bypass. I'm currently building one of these and just saw the option to use the buffered bypass. I wire all my pedals true bypass and this is the first build I've ever encountered a buffer option

    ADHD v2 (Fulltone OCD Ge)

I think "chewy" best refers to that really percussive midrange that has a bit of "serration" to it... have you ever drug a rasp across a piece of wood, or a potato across a vegetable/cheese grater??? That's kinda how I'd describe "chewy"... Best audio demonstration would be Mike Lemmo's (Norms...

VHS (JHS VCR clone) boost not boosting

I've built 3 VHS pedals so far... one for me, one for a friend, and one as a spare in case anyone else wants to try one out. I recently bought an actual JHS VCR and put them head to head... The Pedal PCB version is just a BETTER pedal. The Chorus is more present, The Reverb sounds more...

    Cleaver boost updated version

I probably should have worded that better... It runs the 18v Charge pump, this I know... I was curious why you went 9.6v instead of just 9v... I took that to mean perhaps you felt 9.6 sounded better vs 9 flat... Side note, I didn't have to even touch my bias pots to get 9. one was dead on 9...

    Cleaver boost updated version

Just finishing mine up now. I noticed you mentioned you biased to 9.6v. Any particular reason vs the standard 9v (half voltage), or dies it matter? I built the Blue Shoe/Paul Gilbert pedal a while back and it sounded "bleh" to me but I saw a suggestion to up the bias to 11v vs 9... it still...

    Missing Build Docs / Schematics

Just curious about the new revision build docs for the ADHD. I was going to build it as per the PCB, but wasn't sure which version that would be (I understand there are several) and if updated docs would show the differences as to the versions. Thanks!

    Cleaver boost updated version

Resistor value was correct, however it must have been faulty. Replaced it (since it's the only thing it could possibly be) and led works fine now. I'd replaced the led multiple times and it would immediately flash or dim, or just die altogether... which is really odd because I always thought...
