Doing the BB Booster. It calls for BC550. I have mesured some BC550B (280-430Hfe) and some BC550C (430-520Hfe). Any one as experienced different Hfe in this circuit? Is it worth socketing let’s say the 280’s against the 450´s or will it have no significant tonal effect in this circuit?

Both availability and price makes sense to make selection. I ended up going with the box film caps. They were twice the price of MLCC's but I just needed a two for this built so that did not make a difference. I would have though a little longer if that value was to be needed on multiple...
