Like an idiot I soldered the tube socket on the wrong side of the daughter board. Will it work if I just place the daughter boards on the opposite sides?

Thanks, I should have specified, I'm using a PPCB 3PDT breakout board which has 6 connects.

Should I connect the mute and buffer if I'm just using a 3PDT?

I'm getting ready to place the LDR/LED in my General Tso build and want to make sure I do it correctly. My plan is to the LED touching the LDR, and then cover it a tube of shrink wrap like this: Should I heat the shrink wrap tight, or just tight enough to block the light out?

It looks like the potentiometer leg goes to ground as does the pictured resistor, r19, so I'm guess their should be continuity between them. Can anyone confirm for me?

I haven't finished building this yet but the two pictured pad and showing connectivity on my DMM. Is this a problem and if so how can I fix it. The pads are really close but there is a tiny gap in the solder between the.

OMG, yes the jacks were wired incorrectly. I fixed, and the pedal works beautifully. The IC is fine. Thanks all for catching my bonehead mistake!

No I didn't replace it. Sound like it may be fried, is there a way I can test with a DMM?

Well no more smoke, but I'm generating a tone, where the frequency changes when I play with any of the pots. FYI I did sub JRC4580Ds for JRC4558Ds.

So just did first power up for an Octarock build and I got nasty smelling smoke coming out. Took a look and the middle IC was in backwards. I fixed it, but also noticed that the 10R resister on the top right of the board was burnt out (likely what was smoking). I only have one more 10R resister...

I did Mint. I socketed the flavor components so I could switch. So far I am very happy with Mint, and don't think I need any more gain, which would be the main reason to switch.

I finished up my build a few days a go, and have had any chance to play with the many settings. Overall the build was straight forward, and the pedal worked straight off the workbench without the need for debugging, which always make me happy. The one hiccup I had was that 4 of the pots I got...
