Hi all, just a few (hopefully) quick questions for the Son of Ben. 1. Can anyone confirm to me the correct pinout/orientation of J201 mini-PCBs? I ordered a few from Aion. It looks like the proper orientation (assuming the power, I/O, etc is facing up/north) is for the J201s to go D/S/G (L-R)...

Maybe I have just been especially lucky, but I've put together probably a dozen pedals with what I assume is Tayda's Lumberg-knockoff and never had any issues, except maybe that one or two have wiggled loose if I didn't tighten them down enough... I've really had it on my list to put together...

I will also recommend dual lock over Velcro. That said if you are really sure you have something you don’t want to move… I use bicycle chain links. Attach to the pedal using the screws that hold the bottom plate on, then screw the other hole of the chain link into the board…

I'm in the same boat. Got a massive 17" for a ridiculous deal on Craigslist. Old school, cast iron all around and all that good stuff. Weighs as much as a small car. I love it, but it's WAY more than I need 99% of the time. Still prefer it to hand drilling, though. We use one of these little...

Random question I just thought of while working on a project yesterday: How come most component values seem to be kind of "odd" numbers? (Not literally odd/even but just...not particularly "round") Take resistors for example. You'll often see values of 470R, 4.7K, 14.7K, 47K, 470K, etc....but...

Done it a few times on drill press...Hardest part for me is finding a way to securely hold the knob AND keep it at a perfect 90 deg... Have more than my fair share with a slightly tilted hole so that it spins a bit crooked. :P

Looks great! Not to derail, but I'm curious. I've seen a handful of your threads about building amps here and there. How big of a leap would you say it is to move from pedal-building to putting together an amp - and how does one make that leap, per se? I've built and modded dozens of pedals...

Okay, I *think* I might've came up with something that would work to accomplish this purpose... But I'm not totally sure where you would wire the actual circuit in/outs. Four switched TRS jacks. Going to try to explain without drawing anything...will try to keep it as not-confusing as possible...

Apologies if this exists somewhere already but I wasn't able to find anything beyond the 'standard' dual pedal wiring options found on the Wiki. So, on some dual pedals nowadays builders have started making them with either two TRS jacks or four jacks to allow you to use both sides of the pedal...

I was able to get ahold of some 1N5222B's (as above, I had previously used 1N5221B) and swapped those in, but unfortunately didn't really make any meaningful difference to my ears. I went back and re-flowed *every* solder point and scrubbed the board down with alcohol to clean it up a bit and...
