Sad times (update for the information database)

Thank you. I really appreciate you taking the time to write this. Your right, it's definitely time to be with the family. Right now I am still in that shock phase. We where really close, and I have a lot going on, so my brain can't really process it or accept it right now. I get what you mean...

Sad times (update for the information database)

I am going to suspend this project for a while. My grandma passed away on Wednesday and I'm a mess :( I am pretty busy so I won't get to the ID for a while. I do want to keep working on it, but now is not the time.

Son Of Ben Q2 Biasing Issue

Benny profane is right. Plus you might damage your components if you are new to soldering and you desolder them.

    Heartbreaking Paragon Mini troubleshooting...

Yeah plugging the op amp in probably crapped it out. You need to get new ones. Every leg of the IC has a specific function and sometimes a component, so if it's backwards you probably fried it. There is no sense in doing anything else until your op amps are replaced.

    Information Database Discussion

I agree. Part of the idea for this discussion thread is suggestions. If somebody wants to contribute something, I would be more than happy to add it. Right now I just got to gradually build it. I think the next topic for the ID will be basic component types and how they work generally and how...

[Giveaway Announcement] [Poll] Help me pick which drive to build and I'll give it away!

I like the grittier tone of the fatbee. Watch the Andy demos video on it. sounds super good. Real gritty and it sounds great with the Gain pretty high. If you want a great smooth distortion sound change to the neck pickup. I'm impressed! Sounds great!

I agree completely Big Monk. It could be potentially difficult to weed through and find information. This is opposite of what I intended for the database. I don't know exactly how I would go about forming an external database or wiki. I don't have the resources for it. Right now the ID is in a...

Bewildered laughs and HVAC advice are definitely good contributions. You seem to excel at building pedals! :)

What can you and me contribute to the forum?

I've been thinking, what can I contribute? How can I help this community with my limited knowledge? Well I know I can't help all that much other than a quick comment or build report, but I'm learning a lot everyday because of very generous and knowledgeable people on the forum. While I was...

    Psst i got a secret

I don't really think you are being snarky at all. I think you are just trying to reach logical conclusions, and I appreciate that. I could always ask him what he's doing for the germanium transistors. All I had to do was ask when the kits where coming out and he gave me a time and every single...

    Psst i got a secret

That's what I was thinking. He sources high quality and trusted brand's parts. He might be able to do it. Also the fuzz faces have an impedance booster circuit that utilizes a transformer that's out of stock all the time, but he would have to do an entirely new pcb layout if he excluded that.

    Psst i got a secret

they name the germanium version. There already is a silicon version for some of the circuits, so why would they call it the germanium circuit name specifically instead of the silicon circuit name?
