    Cepheid volume resistors

Well. R34 and r35 do in fact handle the volume. I increased them to 100k, from 47k, and that was too much volume drop. I settled on 68k, and now the porridge is just right. I am sooo pleased that I have a chorus on my board again. It’s been a few years. Have a splendid weekend. May your...

    Cepheid volume resistors

Hello er’body, I find that my Cepheid chorus has a slight volume increase when engaged. I’ve read a few things about modding the volume for a boost, by decreasing r34 and r35, from 47k to… a lower k. When I get home to the bench, I’d like to try the opposite. Perhaps even socket them and try a...

    125b 3 in 1

I wanted to clarify/update on this lil’ beast. I swapped transistors a few times, and some low gain 2n404’s I got from guitarpcb are sounding great. Hfe is around 35-45. The Capacitor was lowered to a 150nf. And it has a more full bodied sound and feel. Also… I apologize for not naming the...

    125b 3 in 1

I recently saw the thread about how much can be crammed into a 1590b. And realized I had yet to post last weekends build. A Fuzz Foundry, Green Ringer, Mosfet boost. Into a 125b. I’ve been using an AMZ mosfet boost as an always on for a while now. And a Fuzz Foundry Deluxe, that I hadn’t...

    Copper Clad and Squidward

A few months ago I put a Copper Clad and a Squidward together in one enclosure. I added an order switcher in there to be safe. My plan WAS to have the switch below the knob for the fuzz, but space wouldn’t allow it. So I moved the switch above the knob. At first it was okay looking. But after a...

DEMO I built a pedal for Mark Hoppus of blink-182!

Great story. Great build. And good call putting a blend in there. A muff with a blend is, for me, mandatory. A truly excellent notch on your utility belt.

Cheap synthesizers? looking entry level noob synth

Check out the Korg volcas. I have three of them. They are too much fun. I got the Beats to practice guitar with a drum track. Then I got the Keys to make the weird synth notes. Then I got the Sample cause I wanted another volca. I still haven’t used them to their full potential. But you can...

Show off Your Stickers - Stickers wanted!

After a gig, before I set my gear back up in my room. I give the space a quick clean up. And my road case becomes a table for the mixer and other junk again. Here it is. I love stickers. Years ago I started putting them on magnets. Here’s a section of my fridge door too.

Art vs no art for resale

All of the 30+ pedals that I have built for myself, most do not have Labels. None have art. All have been polished to a lovely sheen. Which takes about 10 mins a box. When I realize the pedal circuit I gassed for isn’t for me, it goes into the pile of “to be boxed up and labeled”. Once they...

    Unusual vintage enclosure

I’ve been meaning to share this find. My friend Bill recently passed on. He was in his late 70’s. A lifelong musician and performer, he left behind some gear, that the family shared with his friends. In the well worn suitcase, amongst the tangled spaghetti of patch cords and adaptors, was an...

Dual Magnetron Delay with a lot of extra features

I’m sorry but you’re going to HAVE TO post a demo. I am so happy that this is the first thing I saw after a long work day. Good for you. And good luck.

Songs you thought you'd learn some day, but never did

There are songs that I've jammed to with friends, but never bothered to learn, like Honky Tonk Woman. Or Wagon Wheel. Because I will never play them at a gig. No judgement intended. There are a few songs that I sing along to when I hear them on the radio, but have never bothered to learn. Like...

    2 in 1 Question

I would like to add that, having built a few 2 in 1's with order switches, it's kinda fun to not know. I mostly build for myself, and haven't tried my hand at artwork. Just saying. My Mercurial and CrackleJack get switched back and forth every now and than. Anyway, you do you. By the way...

    Fuzz “blend” advice

Check out guitarpcb.com. They make a Buff n Blend add on circuit. I’ve used it a few times in certain builds. It works great with a Big Muff. There are other sites/shops that offer blend circuits, but I can only vouch for guitarpcb.

    My first pedal.....

In the late 90’s, when I was a teen and learning, I was gifted a Cry-Baby, and an MXR Phase 100, both from the 70's. I still have them. My first purchased pedal was a Big Muff NYC. The phase was always in front of me, for many years. It got bumped a few years ago when I started building...

    Question about a pedal?

So, it turns out the full quote is: “If you will it, it is no dream; and if you do not will it, a dream it is and a dream it will stay.” I apologize for my error. I hope I haven't ruined anyones evening. Happy Building.

    My First 2-1! (Lightspeed/RAT)

Good job. The wiring in your build looks cleaner then most of mine. I love 2 in 1's. I have about 6 or 7 circuits not boxed up because I can't decide which should pair up. I most recently built a Muroidea (Rat), and may pair it with a Distortion 250 (MXR D+/DOD 250). They should play well...

XC Phase has a tiny canary in it

I can’t recall which pedal it was, but a similar “noise” was avoided by moving the In and Out wires away from the board. May have been a Phase II.?.?
