    Modus Operandi

Hmm, I had to look that one up. Google says: “The Bombyx mori technique refers to sericulture and rearing practices for the domesticated silkmoth, centered around optimizing life-cycle management, artificial diet preparation, and non-destructive harvesting or breeding” I really hope I don’t...

SOLVED Effects Layout Lilliput Q3 trimmer only goes down to 8.3 V

Reflowed Q3 and was able to fix it. Initially I biased everything to 4.5 V but that gave to much clean headroom so I added some variation which worked. I’ll do a full write up after I have a chance to play around with it.

SOLVED Effects Layout Lilliput Q3 trimmer only goes down to 8.3 V

After a straight forward build I can't seem to get the Lilliput Q3 D anywhere near 4.5-5V. Q1; Q1 is 5.1V, Q2 is 4.5V, and Q3 is 8.3V at the minimum on the trimmer. The S and G legs read 0V. There is continuity between the SMD and the through-hole pads. I used smd J201's from Tayda. Plugged in...

Lining up drill templates in Affinity Designer [Affinity Newb]

I’m having trouble getting the EffectsLayout Lilliput drill template to line up in Affinity Designer. I’m using the Coppolo Affinity template but the Lilliput drill template at 100% is slightly bigger than the design area. Is there a way to get them to line up automatically? TIA

Not sure how missed that, thanks!

    Treble booster options

Hi all. I am interested in building a treble booster, but don't know to much about them. The Analogman Beano Booster is widely praised but I have seen a DIY version out there. In fact there doesn't look like to many PCB's exist for what seems a relatively simple circuit. The one option I have...

Fuzzy Fox Loud static when engaged [Moved to Troubleshooting]

My bottle just says Denatured alcohol. I guess I'll have to get some of the good stuff😜

Fuzzy Fox Loud static when engaged [Moved from The Toolbox]

I boxed it up and tested and it definitely sounds better there is still a persistent SHHH. I discovered that if I turn the drive all the way down it goes away, and I don't hear it until around 8 or 9 o'clock. Here are some updated pictures:

Fuzzy Fox Loud static when engaged [Moved from The Toolbox]

After reflowing a few more joints and fixing one potential bridge I heard a noticeable improvement. I just did another pass with the ISO and am giving it some time to fully dry before testing it again. I think this is an inherently noisy circuit, so I don't expect it to be silent, but want to...

Fuzzy Fox Loud static when engaged [Moved from The Toolbox]

Don't have one yet, but am planning to get parts to build one with my next order.

Fuzzy Fox Loud static when engaged [Moved from The Toolbox]

Hi all. I got this Fuzzy Fox built but all I'm getting is a loud static when engaged. I tried reflowing so joints, but so far it didn't help. I usually start by measuring voltages on the ICs but not sure how to go about debugging this one. I already tried cleaning the flux with ISO and a...

Fuzzy Fox Loud static when engaged [Moved to Troubleshooting]

Yes I boxed it. The noise is like a loud SHHHH, that is persistent.

Fuzzy Fox Loud static when engaged [Moved to Troubleshooting]

Thanks, I had already tried cleaning the flux with some iso and a toothbrush, but that seemed to spread it out more. I'll do a second round and see if I can clean it better. The transistors I got directly from @Robert: https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/2n3565/

    Simple Jfet buffer R1 & R2

Thanks, I’ll take a look at that. I was thinking I could also use Gemini to verify the part list against the schematic and a picture of the board.

    Simple Jfet buffer R1 & R2

Wow you're right! The schematic and screen both say 2M but parts list says 2M2. I should have caught that but sounds like it went matter much.

    Simple Jfet buffer R1 & R2

Happy holidays all! I'm putting together my simple jfet buffer and I ordered 2M2 1/8 W resistors for R1 and R2 based on the build doc but the PCB has 2M printed on it. I know the answer is usually go with what is printed on the board but I thought maybe 2M2 wouldn't fit on board. So can I use...

Anyone have any new neck opinions?

I have a strat with a channel bound neck that is outstanding. Super comfortable to play and beautiful to boot. They sell them as separate but are pricey.
