Op-Amp Muffs (No, Not That One)

i prefer the ehx v4/v5. i didn’t like the warlow tone control, on any setting. but that’s just my experience. i would also vouch for the Greer Tar Pit / Glue Trap Fuzz - recommended recently by @MichaelW (....post/report/demo pending) - it’s an ehx v4/v5 clone with x5 component changes -...

DEMO GCI MT-2 (Boss Metal Zone)

was it tayda’s error? or is it the drill template that was off? cos i had similar issue, i just used the paper template and hand drill like i always do and all the pots ended up too high and i had to bend everything. was a bastard to fit lol. ended up using shielded wiring on the input, cos...

DEMO GCI MT-2 (Boss Metal Zone)

first of all, many thanks and kudos to @zeropluszero for taking the hit and getting GCI boards into australia then sending me an MT-2 pcb 🫶 when i breadboarded the MT-2 last year, i didn’t think i was actually going to build one (any time soon), so unfortunately i didn’t make a lot of...

EHX Big Muff w/ Tone Wicker Stripboard

that's a bummer. should at least be able to dime the volume. simply having offboard wiring isn't always the default culprit. i would recommend trying a star ground arrangement - specifically at the input jack sleeve. the input jack sleeve is good central node/place for this as it has direct...

    Source for M12.7 x 1.0 hex nuts?

it’s a fair caution/concern, and i had the same thought about that but, they have specifically stated: the outie jack: https://www.taydaelectronics.com/dc-power-jack-2-1mm-enclosed-frame-with-switch-external.html

Micro Deluxe Amplifier Build - Rob Robinette

same. i wish i could build more amps. there's something about the grand scale of an amp build, the vast creative freedom of doing it your own way (whilst acknowledging good practices etc.), and having so many options with regards to parts selections. and then of course the satisfaction / magic...

    Parentheses Fuzz

yeah ive always done R13+R14 as well, moreso out of habit/fixation, but on reflection i'm not sure it matters as much cos it's just a voltage divider/voltage ref point.

    Parentheses Fuzz

im gonna be the contrarian and say that I wasn't all that impressed with matched 5817s when i breadboarded the octave circuit (numerous times). not trying to be a dick, it's just that i got better results with matched D9Es (but tbh i can't remember how much attention i was paying to leakage...

Is it just me or is everyone excited at the free tuner?

yeah fucken oath mate, im so stoked for this tuner. this might be the build that will get me over the line to also build a muzzle - ultimately for an entirely DIY signal chain. for the longest time i've been a strict user of the ISP Decimator Pro Rack G (cos it's awesome) - and since its 1RU...

    Gerkin fuzz is incredible bassy

ive visually gone through it comparing against the board image w/ the printed values and can't find any errors yet... - A500 vs A470K, should have a barely perceptible difference. - can only assume you've got the transistors in the correct orientation. - are those red caps really 470pF? (can't...

    pickup simulator schematic question

my understanding is that this is kind of the point of it? (i.e. to create pickup behaviour/simulation at a point that follows a buffer/gain stage). i.e. - the point of the pickup simulator is to simulate pickup behaviour 'downstream'. [from the output of XFM (pin 3)] - the buffer in front...

DEMO War Scythe (EQD Hoof Reaper)

ay cheers 🤟🏻 i just used the one that comes with the build doc. but it looks like @zeropluszero has you covered. i grab a pack of 46-10s and a single 70, throw away the 10. it’s actually a mouse pad lol
