    Reverb Tank Issue

Random screw sticking out of the chassis underneath as ground. Cleans up around 3 for the clean channel gain. Frequency measurement jumps around more though. The 3 khz is basically an arbitrary measurement with how much it jumps

    Reverb Tank Issue

Think I need to try again later using actual ground instead of the neg of the rca because that 47ohm resistor in the circuit or nah?

    Reverb Tank Issue

Retried with .7 volts on signal generator this time for more appropriate voltage. Bigger one still clean channel, probably cuz distortion compresses.

    Reverb Tank Issue

The signal generator I only set to 2v going into the front of the amp cuz I don't know how much is supposed to be going into the amp and don't wanna fry something while testing by putting too much. Just googled it and guitars def don't put out that much.

    Reverb Tank Issue

Bigger waveform was clean channel. Nothing with multimeter.

    Reverb Tank Issue

Oh ok so if anything it would drive the tank too easily then right? Right I understood. Conveniently I just bought a cheap scope/signal generator since I gotta meet the test conditions. Time to try that out!

    Reverb Tank Issue

Do reverb tanks for solid state amps normally have 8 ohm input then? I tried finding out what it was supposed to come with but I couldn't find any info. I even asked people in Facebook groups who have the amp and no one would check. This tank is what it came with when I got it. But that...

    Reverb Tank Issue

True! I've been trying to avoid opening the amp for now so I didn't pay any attention to the test points yet and have just done all the outside tests that I could find.

    Reverb Tank Issue

Once again I use the fx loop and have never had a problem with it. Thanks though. Whenever I open the amp up I will check to see if they are nasty and rusted just in case. To be specific though I have tested the amp reverb with and without using the loop. The reverb has nothing to do with...

    Reverb Tank Issue

Appreciate it. I should've, thankfully Ampeg has all their schematics online and thanks for linking it. Wish more companies did that. I do use the fx loop and never had a problem with it. There is no fx loop switch but there is a reverb switch if plugged in, otherwise the verb is always on...

    Reverb Tank Issue

I have not as they don't look rusted or anything like that but I suppose I'll give it a try since it worked for you. Thanks man.

    Reverb Tank Issue

If anyone happens to know much about reverb tanks I could use some help. I have an Ampeg vh140c with what seems to be the appropriate spec reverb tank. 4bb3c1b I've tried it both ways and smacked the tank and both sides sent audio which should mean both half of the tanks are working correctly...

    Muzzle problem

I set it to the low mode on this inside instead of the high if I remember right cuz it worked better for me that way. I'm not sure if yours is messed up or that's just the issue though

    106NU70 Germanium Transistor Equivalent

Sovcom on ebay seems to be the place to buy germaniums. My order is supposed to show up soon and I ordered from them because other people mentioned it in some threads on here. They aren't measured so buy extra so you can test them, and since you gotta buy extra it's worth importing anyway cuz...

    PedalPCB Spirit Box/EQD Ghost Echo

Nice! And ooh what do the mods do? I got a board for this on my desk waiting for parts.

    Referee build (Resonant Filter Equalizer)

All those jumpers are confusing the shit out of me lol. But hell yeah! I got a board on my desk waiting for parts. Mine won't look as cool as yours though!

Analog Tube Power amp simulator: studying possibilities

It seems I got mixed up and thought the mofeta was based on the beta lead for some reason. However the tube feel is generally regarded as coming from the power amp. So if the tube feel is coming from the power amp then your tube preamp won't give it especially if your tube preamp is not doing it...

Analog Tube Power amp simulator: studying possibilities

Why would a solid state pedal based on a solid state amp with some "power amp emulation" which just means they threw a weird gain stage running transistors at 18 volts make it feel like a tube amp? (Referring to the mofeta) No it won't help. It might sound good.
