Thanks for the suggestion. I've checked everything and all the components are correct. The pot is behaving perfectly fine except that it is reading 8k rather than 10k but it is actually as an 8k pot should. I.E. it is measuring 4k at 50% etc. I don't think being 8 instead of 10 would matter all...

Yeah I measured up most of the components to minimise the weirdness of the ringer. This one works pretty well but the octave functions more like an alternative gain stage than a true octave effect in my opinion. I'll try and tee up a demo.

Just finished this one off last night, sounds epic! I hand engraved the enclosure which took a long time but I like the vibe. The build is using matched d9k Germanium diodes and the OP07 op amp.

Hmmm 2 votes for electrolytics... I might just give it a go and see what happens thanks so much everyone.

Those slots have 3 holes under them so that they can accommodate electrolytics or non polar caps. I think it changes depending on which build you are doing. The Martian Fuzz asks for 100n coupling caps so film box or ceramic seems the most likely.

Really like how this one turned out and love how it sounds. Picked up a set of MA858 and 1s1588 diodes and it's currently using JRC4558 Op Amps but I'd like to try the original 4580s. Enclosure was powder coated black, I sanded it back added the waterslide decal and finished it in matte clear coat.
