Fuzz Face - Does transistor selection really matter?

Now let's not go to TGP and burst any bubbles. You wouldn't want to ruin the day for those who spent dozens of pages dissecting the tonal differences between the blue and the teal Chase fuzz, would you?

Fuzz Face - Does transistor selection really matter?

I think there's a hole in your understanding of electronics

    Twin Face 20uf Capacitor

Use a 22uF. Tolerance is so bad anyway, you'll find one that is actually 20uF and there is no discernible tone difference.

Ceasar Chorus but more difficult for no reason

I think this is great and I love the tricolor LED but I also know that there's no way I would be able to remember which effect each color is, especially live on stage. For my last gig I had to rehearse pedal switching during songs so I wouldn't make a mess :)

    Caesar Chorus Ticking

This would work if I knew which component is the LFO :) Anyway using shielded wire will eliminate all ticking.

That's available as a 245 tip for less than 20 bucks on AliExpress. I almost bought one myself.

My TC1 tester reads Germanium leakage. No idea if it reads JFETs, actually.

I socketed the biasing resistors in my Desolate only for the first two random J201s to work perfectly with the stock values. As for the Low Tide, it's got pride of place in my Hall of Shame. Never worked properly. I have another board for when I'm ready to give it another try.

I also have a board. I only have a TC1 tester, I don't think it reads all those JFETS data, ill have to breadboard that tester. I don't name pedals but I'd call mine 99 Luftballons Fuzz

Tone Vendor Mk1 too much background much noise

Q1 looks good but Q2c and Q3c should be around 8V-9V with Attack at 0. Q2c should be around 3V-5V with full Attack. If there was ever a circuit to breadboard before building, the TB MKI is it.

Tone Vendor Mk1 too much background much noise

high quality NOS components and carbon comp resistors => noise Those leakages are very high => noise Anyway an MKI should be gated. Absolutely no noise when you' re not playing. What are your voltages?

DEMO Magnetron Delay (Keeley Magnetic Echo)

Cracking demo! I love mine and I also noticed the Modulation knob doesn't do much until the end of the sweep. I try not to use delay. When I do it's slapback with a bit of warble. Is there a way to mod the circuit to reduce the delay time so it becomes a chorus?
