🔥 SG fever! 🔥

I almost didn't post this one here, since it clearly says "Les Paul" and not SG... well, that and it's kind of dark and I need to get better pictures - though Steggi was keen to help... but I picked this one up a couple of months back... I absolutely frikkin' ADORE the pickups on this thing...

Automotive wheel weights in the cavity if it bothers you. But yours doesn't sound too bad. Love your wood grain. Did you get Gloss or VOS? It looks like VOS by the hardware but I can't tell. I got VOS, and I'm thinking about shining up just the finish.

Every time I see an SG I wish I could move the bridge and bridge pickup away from the neck. They're too close. At the very least I'd move the stopbar so it aligns with the switch.

Gone in less than 6 hours. Somethin' fishy on this one. Kind of double listed from the same guy though. You see the picture at the gas pump? Lol probably was just stolen. Oh well if ya'll ever see one of these early 2000's Sapphire Blues grab it. Ultra rare.

It's because the neck pickup is closer to the bridge on an SG compared to a Les Paul. The ESP/LTD Eclipse guitars are the same way except most of them have 24 frets so the neck pickup is butted right up against the fretboard. I've only seen a couple 24 fret SGs.

This one is VOS... I picked it up second hand. It had a small ding in the neck that the local luthier took care of, so I got a screamin' deal. :D

I like pickups to be different from each other. I saw a Serek bass that has two pickups right next to each other right very little difference.
The ideal distance would be this

I can't remember where I read this and I'd have to dig for it. But I believe the '70s-'80s SG's have a different pickup/hardware placement. Technically the pickups are a little further apart I think, but not much.

2018 on the left, 1984 on the right. Everything was kind of shifted "down" like half an inch.

Well I love it, looks shinier than mine. Maybe it's the lighting. Have you polished it at all? I haven't polished/cleaned mine except for the neck.

But I've read and seen some pictures that look pretty good of people polishing their VOS bodies a little. Not a buffing wheel or anything but just regular maintenance wipe-down polish. Gives it more of a shine but not full gloss ya know? I feel like the woodgrain could pop more on mine, while having that old-but-well-taken-care of vibe.

I haven't - but I've thought about hitting it just with a wipe down. The previous owner might have, though...

I wish they would have kept putting the output jack on the side of the body and wider pot spacing, but moved the switch back up by the pickguard. That would be the best of both worlds. SG controls are a little cramped for space similar to a Firebird and having the cord/jack right there makes it worse.

Well I got this a few days ago, only 20 days late. They admitted they don't have anything in stock, but make something like 50 guitars a day. It came with the case with the blue interior, but my thick, wide leather strap wouldn't fit in that case. I ended up using a 4/4 acoustic case I bought on an auction for a stupid low price.

I literally just bought it as I had the feeling I might need it some day. Glad to see my ESP is still working with Jedi proficiency!

It's a perfect guitar, not a flaw on it that I can see. The pickups have some goo on them that I think will come off with wax, from the plastic covering they used to 'protect' them with. *Great protection, NOT*.

22 Frets, not a bit of buzz all the way up and down the neck and the action is super low just the way I like it with my arthritis in my fingers.....

Surprisingly light at 7.5 pounds! Not bad for a $220 guitar......
