0 ohms resistor

So I was wondering this myself as I came across these in an old multipack a while ago but a friend just snapped a pic of some he found and was like...wtf is this? Are these not just a bit of wire?

Yeah, they're just jumpers. Depending on my mood I'll use one in place of a hunk of wire to keep a board looking neat... depending on my mood...

If you put one on a board you've outted yourself as a person who buys zero ohm resistors.

I might hook up a 3pdt board with these just to be cute.

They make it easier for auto-populating machines to place jumpers.

I would probably never thought to buy them, but I got some in a mixed pack, and I've found them useful a few times.
