DEMO A demo for April Autism Awareness month

This post contains an audio or video demo
Two other books of potential relevance, written by my sister in law:
The reason I jump is a really insightful book. Made me realize that some people on the spectrum experience of time is not linear like someone who is neuro typical. And once I realized that It has helped me understand some of my daughters behaviors and how to accommodate her needs better, along with how to help her process the world around her.

My 15 year old son is low functioning autistic (level 3, although this is the first time I've heard the term).

There are more of us here than you probably realize.
Same - my 13 year old is moving from level 3 to level 2 on that scale (hadn't heard about it either) because of a lot of hard work from both him and us :)

I’m a bit late to this but I found post informative, the demo entertaining and the both of them inspiring. My only personal experience is some friends who have a child who is probably level 1 based on reading the op, although some of level 2 has been experienced. Generally things are going well for them but there were rough times.

My 19 year son is level 1. Super smart in some things (like scary smart). Some things not so much. It's a journey. What he really needs is for people to appreciate him for what he is instead of always trying to change him. It makes him feel that can can never fit in. Luckily, he has some kind friends where he works (In and out burger). My 22 year old son helps a level 3 kid (22 years). Keep up the good fight. It can be challenging, at times.
