I don't know what it is about that vid, I just love the juxtaposition and find it hilarious.
Not sure what that says about me, but more-so it's fascinating that someone came up with that side of the character concept itself and then a bunch of people along the way signed off on it and gave it all the go-ahead... what does that say about them?

I spent most of my career in advertising. I've been in lots of those meetings. You wouldn't believe the stories... On of my favorite quotes was from a junior account exec. (i.e. about 6 months out of college) speaking to a junior marketing manager (about 7 months out of college) from a major household goods manufacturer. They were coming out of a meeting where they had been discussing the focus of a new campaign. "we should get another meeting on the calendar as soon as possible so we can really dig into the concept of 'essence."
Yeah, McMaster is not known for it's prices. They will help you find it and get it to you next day though! Fastenal is a slightly more economical option, and they've really improved their UI over the last few years.
You can find cheaper options if you look for 1-piece washers as these paired wedge lock ones will destroy an aluminum enclosure if used separately.
Since I don't really need many of them I'm sticking with the Chinese source I have, but BTW you can source them from companies on Alibaba for a tenth of the price of McMaster.
I use these types of lockwashers almost exclusively. Not as good of a bite (imo) as the serrated teeth ones but are almost always less thick for a given size. They are sharp looking but I only use them internally. The ones that flare out (the ones in OP, as opposed to go straight out) are DIN9250 and can be found on aliexpress for super cheap.
DIN988 are good for metal footswitch washers. They might be good for toggle switches too but I haven't tried them. In my experience rarer fasteners can be found for really cheap overseas once you know the DIN number. This is a decent guide to them.
There's nice toggle finishing nuts that fit the type we use on RC online stores as well.
I love these small details and obsess over them. The main thing I still haven't found a solid source for are black nuts that fit Tayda/Alpha pots to use for when knobs don't extend all the way down to the enclosure. These banananuts are really nice but I haven't gotten them to work on tayda/alpha pots even though the datasheets say are m7x0.75 threaded. I've even looked into blackening metals as an option, but I'm a little intimidated by the process.
Thinking of having a kerosene tank, a cotton wick and a flint lighter. Step on the switch and an actual flame lights up to show that your pedal is engaged.
