ANGUS in a box !

Yep, and the resistors / caps around the tone control are moved around a bit, but still a Crunch Box in either case.

We can probably get the component values from the video but we'll have to open one up for the pot values.

@Robert what's the deal with the crunch box? I asked that somewhere around here recently. Like I know it exists and nothing more. What's the tl;dr?

If you like MIAB-type pedals you should give one a try sometime. It's cloned about as much as the TS, and for good reason.

The Crunch Captain Deluxe is a pretty good incarnation with a few more options than the standard version.

This would be a unique composition , one the one hand Angus and with a switch to Billy, would be top of the Bill!

So they're Crunchboxes with the LEDs removed, besides the tweaked values? Gotta be loud as hell unless they put some kind of voltage divider before the volume to keep the volume range manageable.

Most of the rhythm / chord parts on AC/DC records are Malcolm Young on his Gretsch , not Angus.

Yep, and with not as much gain as folks typically think (or rather, the Filtertrons are lower output so it's PERCEIVED that way?). Malcolm's sound is what I go for, anyway. If I had to pick just ONE sound to define as THE sound of rock, that would be it.

SIDE NOTE: Crazy as it's gonna sound, I got a great approximation of that rhythm tone once with my Cabronita Telecaster (Fidelitron pickups) and my Peavey JSX on the Crunch channel with KT-77 power tubes.
