Arachnid Programed chips...

So the chips are programmed from 0-8 but the pcb is marked 1-7. Seems silly to have to ask but What's what? Is 0 on the chip 1 on the pcb? Or is 0 actually 8? Thanks. I'm an idiot. I have so many programmed chips and forgot where I put what. To test, I jumped out all pads with 50/50 resistors and will move the jumper around the program pads to confirm what I have.

Not sure what labels you are referring to, but the EEPROM holds 8 programs, and the rotary switch has 8 positions. Full CCW on the switch is the first program in EEPROM, full CW is the last program.

As for keeping track of programs. I store programs on my computer as .bin files (instead of ihex). Then I can compare the MD5SUM of the bin file to identify programs.
