Art for Art’s Sake: Sharing artwork and WIPs

Jesus Christ, it’s been brutal. Been awake for 26 straight hours, and working in the litho studio for 21 straight hours. Not really satisfied with the end result, but I’ve had 6 hours of sleep in the past 3 nights combined, so it was time to say f*ck it; enough is enough. I’ll be revisiting these stones next semester— I never had time to print editions of my three electronic images to sell, so I’ll be printing a whole lot in January so I can get those images finished up before it’s time to start new projects. The most recent one had some hiccups I’m not crazy about, so that’ll get some love too at the start of next semester before I have to give that stone up. Just too much stress and too many technical difficulties to end with these in the state they’re in.

Final project (accidentally miscalculated my paper sizes due to the lack of sleep, hence the small top margin on the cream colored one. The white one will be torn down to even 1” margins all round): working title- Fuzzy Memories

Printmaking was one of the courses I couldn't fit in to my track, but wished I could have. Did bookmaking since it fit into my schedule better.

You're doing some amazing work @Bricksnbeatles . Actually makes me sort of want to go back to college 🤣

Bookmaking is actually something I’ve had a lot of interest in ever since a girl from the advanced intaglio class came into my intro print class to show off a few books she had bound. My professor has suggested that I do some of my prints as a book as well. There’s not a class for it at my school, but I’ve been thinking of giving it a try in the near future
 
New semester started last week, and in my Analog B/W Photography class I did a silver gelatin photogram of some electronic bits as my first foray into the darkroom today. Had to leave before the professor got them out of the dryer, but it came out pretty rad— I’ll share a pic after Wednesday’s class.

I loved film photography classes. Even did my own b&w development in my apt for a short time. Fun stuff.
