Drawing some inspiration from @comradehoser, I got a wild hair to try my hand at a point-to-point fuzz.

I'm chalking this up to a learning experience as I'm not really satisfied with the result.

First, the circuit looked substantially better before I had to rework the pots after spacing out and wiring them backwards (clockwise was cutting).

Second, the "art" came out way more zebra than psychedelic. I probably should have seen that coming.

Third, the clear coat I used didn't like isopropanol I used to try to remove flux.

Live and learn.

Oh, yeah... I also learned that I won't be using the oxblood 3PDT footswitches from Love My Switches in the future. I took a flyer on them because I dig oxblood, but I was getting floppy terminals at the same temperature I always solder footswitches. Maybe it was from a bad batch.

I had this very experience years ago. I stopped buying them due to the weak potting on the oxblood BLMS.

Yeah, they're not usually my first choice, though I'm far more tolerant of them in a 1590B than a 125B.

I got the idea in my head for that straight line from switch to jack tip and then wanted to see what it would look like.
I like side jacks personally.

Genuine curiosity, @tolstokes: why do you like side-jacks?

Apologies to genXslacker for the threadjack...

Fair question, as the way he sets up his board, top jacks would be much more convenient. It'd even allow him to move a pedal to the first row.

Also, kinda dissapointed this wasn't a dba ss war build, because at some point I want to know if it really is just a cap and a blend away from the regular thing. 😅

Then again, always cool to see a point to point build! So any dissapointment undone!
