Best shipping method for multiple pedals

So i've been working on some pedals for a buddy of mine. His band is going into the studio in a month or two and I want to ship them a bunch of pedals i've got laying around plus the pedals they requested. I have a bunch of tayda bubble wrap and plastic bags. I dont have any of those pedal sized cardboard boxes. you guys think the tayda bags and bubble wrap will be sufficient? I dont want to pay too much for packing or insurance. last time I shipped a pedal home to my dad UPS charged me $35 to ship from Chicago to KC for a tiny fuzz pedal. any advice is much appreciated. thanks
 
Where is the best place to buy the brown pedal boxes with the folding lids? Im going to be shipping 5 or 6 125b pedals and 3 or 4 1590bb. but it would be nice to have a surplus of those boxes laying around.
 
"Best" is a relative term, cousin to "Cheap".

I'm sure there're a couple more pedal-places to buy them, but I bet if you dial in the dimensions you want (ie copied from the aforementioned) you'll be able to get them cheaper at a warehouse-supply shop online, postal outlet, or Amazon, or whatever, etc.
 
I use the Tayda bags for padding, but I also usually just try and save pedal sized boxes from previous shipments (Amazon etc). Frankly, if this is not a “professional” pedal sale, just get a big enough box to fit them all and use the Tayda bubble wrap to keep them all from scratching each other.
 
ya not a professional at pedal sale. It’s just for some homies. I’m just shipping some of my extras and some pedals they requested. I think I’m just use all the bubble wrap I’ve been saving from tayda and put them in a big box all together

Sounds like you're state-side, so USPS flat-rate is an option. Depending on how many pedals you're shipping, USPS has several options for flat-rate priority mail. Alternatively, you could hang onto your next decent cardboard box from Amazon or another retailer, package it up yourself and use something like Pirate Ship to send it USPS ground. Yes, I said that correctly, USPS has a new"ish" service option that's a bit cheaper than priority mail for heavier packages if a few days longer in transit is okay.

As of today I am done shipping anything west of the Mississippi. I calculated this myself two weeks ago and it wasn’t this much… For those of you that claim sellers are charging too much for shipping… It just cost me $240 to ship a Friedman JJ from GA to WA funny insured for the purchase price...

Shipped them pedals yesterday. $16 ups. Packed the pedals myself in tayda bubble wrap. I sent my buddies the PPCB hydra, parenthesis mini, curds and whey, and Aion darkglass duality. Supposed to arrive in Memphis on Tuesday. Fingers crossed 🤞they arrive intact.
