Blue Breaker -vs- BB Gun

A friend has asked me to build a BB clone for him. Obvious choice would be PPCB's Blue Breaker, but then I find that the BB Gun is also based on the BB.

How do they differ?

I haven't tried the BB Gun, so sorry I can't help there.

I recently built a Blue Breaker, and it's one of my favorite drives. But one shortcoming is it doesn't have much volume. There's a PedalPCB board call Pro-10 Blue, which is another BB variant, and which addressed the volume problem. So that's another one you may want to consider.

If he is looking for a blues breaker, I would go with the Bluebreaker over the BB Gun.

For versatility and having the most options on the theme of Bluesbreaker, then go with the Pantheon. The BB gun is pretty good but I built mine with a boost to give it more flexibility which brings me back to why I like the Pantheon.

I have built Aion FX BB and it is really good, very similiar to the Morning Glory.

Thank you all. I love reading your insights. He’s pretty insistent that he wants a straight-up, no mods clone of the BB, so the Blue Breaker it is.
