Blue shoe sweep control

Hello.. I thought the sweep control on the the Blue Shoe pedal Ilwas not working but I think I may be mistaken. Does the sweep control only engages one the mids are either all the way off or on?

the sweep control selects the 'mid' frequency (to be either cut, or boosted)
the mid control either cuts or boosts the frequency selected by the sweep control.

when the mid control is at noon, the sweep control doesn't really do much.

imo - the position of the mid control (cut/boost) has a significant effect, and pretty much behaves like another gain control.
