I would say that compared to the first term, they are accomplishing a lot more this time around. The nature of what they are accomplishing is certainly questionable. But by that measure they are more “competent”. Whether there is lack of competence on the direction and goals being chosen vs some deeper malicious intent is hard to say. My guess is that it’s a mix like Chuck said.
 
The first term was, essentially, a (not terribly clever) petty mob boss trying to run—and being somewhat constrained by—the existing US government.
Turned out not to be super successful at achieving good governance, or at doing mob stuff (grifting, self-dealing, random acts of vindictiveness against your perceived enemies, etc.).

Second term is same petty mob boss running a government much more fully stocked with his own hand-picked goons. This time, they’re even worse at the good governance, but they’re doing way better at the mob stuff!

Does this make them “competent”? 🤷‍♀️ 🤷‍♀️

Is that even a serious question?? 😂

The tariff "plan" is not just ignorant and incompetent it's also incredibly lazy. It's just tariffs. No investment, no working strategically with industry. No consultation with anyone outside in the real world. No research, study, analysis. No actual working involved. Of course it's not going to work.

Are we forgetting that he has been bankrupt many times, is a convicted criminal, sex offender and a fraud?

The things with Venezuela and Greenland sound like Putin has been whispering in his ear to me. Wanting to take over Greenland makes no sense seeing as everything he thinks he needs to achieve with Greenland he can already do without ownership. It sounds to me like Putin egging him on to destroy NATO. If the USA attacks Greenland then there goes NATO and Putin wins.

Exactly. Everything they are doing is not about running the government but destroying it. It has been stated time and time again.
