Capacitor “omitted”?

I am about to start building the Lot Lizard Octave Fuzz, and the BOM lists two 47p capacitors, stating that one is omitted on the Nano version and one is omitted on the Big Box version.

I am assuming that I would only use one of these (either C3 or C8) in my build? And if I omit one, do I just simply leave it off the board? Or do I need to jumper it?

This is a new concept for me, so thanks for the help!

The idea is to install one or the other but it wouldn't hurt anything to install them both.

When the doc says "omit" you would just leave the component out altogether, no jumper.

Just chiming in that not all PCB makers ascribe the same meaning to "omit". @Robert apparently designs his boards such that "omit" means "no need to jumper" - however, as I found when building a Lectric-FX board that stated to omit a certain component if building a certain version, the designer meant "omit and jumper". So if things don't seem to work properly when you "omit" a component per the documentation, it may be wise to try jumpering (or contact the maker for guidance).

Exactly. If it needs a jumpered it will say "jump" or "jumper".

I just looked at the schematic. I’d be tempted to use ‘em both fwiw
