Catalinbread Blood Donor (revamped Katzenkonig more bite/lower noise floor)

This was a pedal they were doing for charity but the charity drive appears to be over. The pedal is still available on their website. It's a revamped Katzenkonig with more gain and less noise. This one could be a killer.

On sale for $99. This circuit still intrigues me. I still love my katzenkonig even with all the noise. This supposedly has a much reduced noise floor and more sensitivity. For those who don't know what the Katzenkonig is.... it's a mk.II tonebender/Rat hybrid from Catalinbread. It's one of my favorite distortion/fuzz pedals. I built the Aion Poseidon (katzenkonig) but it would be cool to have a PPCB version. Blood Donor seems like ripe.

Tbh I built the Fuzzdog version and wasn't blown away. It was noisy as hell for sure, so a less noisy version might be nice. Not sure what "more sensitivity" means exactly in this case, but more useable range might be nice too.

I wonder if the lower noise is just them putting a cap on the input or on one of the transistors Collector to Base. I can't imagine they did much tweaking to the circuit.

I wouldn’t be surprised. I can’t find gut shots or schematics to confirm
