Catalinbread Naga Viper Mkii differences?

Earlier this year Catalinbread released a mkii update to the Naga Viper treble booster. There's an added attenuator knob and a different transistor. About the attenuator knob they say "This control acts like a level control for everything in front of the Naga Viper". And the new transistor adds more gain and grit.

Has anyone had a look at the mkii? Is the new knob just an input volume control? That seems easy enough to add to the PedalPCB Dragons Breath Boost naga viper clone... (that I've just bought:D)

But I wonder if there's any other mojo happening with this control (maybe eq shift, gain compensation, who knows maybe a pickup impedance sim to play nice with buffers now that it is designed to go after other pedals, etc etc) or maybe it is a simple level control.

It sounds great and seems really useful in this review
