Cleaver Katana Boost what happened?

I recently built the Cleaver Katana and was liking it. Now it just sounds blatty, muddy, farty in a non musical way. I checked the bias and both jfets, they were at 11v up from 9. I turned them down to 9 and same blatty sound.
Should I suspect the 2n5458's? Is there a better jfet for this application?
Pedal is quiet and operates just sounds bad. What happened?

if it was working then the sound degraded, I would think you have a cold joint that's degraded. Have you tried reflowing all the joints?

I did replace the 2 10u Tant power filters just in case as well as jfets which seemed to test fine on my cheap ebay tester. Same overly muddy results. I changed my instrument cords as well. When it works its great. I did not reflow every point but I have another pcb coming as Id like this without the toggles. Ill give it an other try.
