Coffee Talk

Yeah I'm not going back to the Keurig today.... I just need to try again. It's been a while since I had to think about this.

Also.... I just remembered my wife used our grinder to grind up some chocolate beans or iron ingot or some shit like that...

That explains the weird taste....

My grinder just instantly went from Brrrrrrrrrrrr to Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I picked up a refurbished Jura Capresso machine probably 15 years ago and it was still pricey, but life could not exist without it. I've had to have it serviced twice and each of those bills could have easily bought me any number of other coffee makers, but so it goes.

I once dried out a bunch of peppers and onions and ground them up to make a salt for pizzas in the coffee grinder. The next pot of coffee was so hot it hurt, that coffee grinder went in the bin.

This is faint, but it ruined the pot of coffee... and I called myself cleaning it out first too...

I might have to grind up a few sacrificial scoops of beans just to get it all out of there.

I am an avid user of the Aeropress with the Fellows espresso cap. I also am a fan of drinking high octane coffee. I use a French press if I am doing cold brew.

Got that on Amazon. Works pretty well

That looks cool!

So what's the deal with all this French press business? I've heard them mentioned but haven't a clue.

Le French press. Grounds go in the bottom, then water, put the cap on, wait for desired amount of time for optimal extraction, push the plunger down. Pour carefully or you will be chewing some coffee on the last cup. Since this is not a paper filter you get more of the coffee oils and (to some) a better tasting cup o joe

You know, a little bit of grounds never really bothered me.

It's like orange juice with pulp. :ROFLMAO:

Down here in Georgia we just boil the coffee straight in a pot of water. You can filter it through your teeth when you drink it.

French press is pretty cheap and easy.. give it a try if you don’t like it you are only out about 10$-20$ for a budget press… so it’s about the price of a Starbucks🥴

Soooo, one of these

I have way more coffee paraphernalia than I realize. This was a family “relic” from some bygone generation. I tried it once without satisfactory results. Fine line between weak af and scorched earth coffee with this one.

Ix-nay on the Od-pays! I will never buy a coffee maker that uses pods. Just wasteful and you can't really dial in the flavor you want based on the size of the cup. Plus, using custom coffee grounds is a pain. Much prefer a traditional drip maker.

That said, one of my all time favorite coffees is Pete's Big Bang. That's pretty much my regular I buy. It's a medium roast so it's still smooth and provides plenty of caffeine. :D
