Comprehensive Drive 1N5819 needed?

I was just curious why the use of 1N5819 and if 1N5817 would work on this. Why the difference? I’ve highlighted it in the power section.

5817/8/9 will all work the same. Unsure why the 5819 is in that schematic, could be what was in the original. Seeing as it’s a free the tone circuit a 5819 probably calls He-Man back to castle greyskull or something.

There do have a higher voltage tolerance, I've had to use them when I run my buffered Interface on 30V.

One of the things I used to think is that the original manufacturers chose components based on just performance. After experience as a consultant in different manufacturing industries I know that once basic performance requirements are met, the most 'important' factor (to the bean-counters) is price. So if this circuit doesn't require the performance of 5819's, it's probably because they had those on hand or got a good deal.
