Substitution for 1N5817

I’m working on a pcb and one of the holes for the 1N5817 is physically smaller in size than the others and the damn leg just will not fit in the hole. Is there a substitute part I could use that maybe has thinner legs? What would happen if I didn’t use it? Would the pedal still work?

you can jumper it and the pedal will still work. The diode is only there to project against plugging in the wrong power supply,

Sweet I don’t see myself plugging in the wrong power supply as everything I use is the same. Thank you! Saved that build from being scrapped!

You could also put a leg off another component and twist the other end to that, like teepeeing resistors

What circuit? It depends... If it's part of a charge pump circuit you won't want to jump it.

It’s one of Sheepy’s projects that’s a modified Menatone blue collar. There isn’t a charge pump it’s an easy one.
