Controlling two effects in a rack mount.

Got a question.

I’ve got a person looking to rackmount one of my pedal designs. I’ve done it before, and that’s not an issue. It’s a high gain preamp style pedal.

The question I have is that they want it to have a “clean” channel in addition and be able to switch back forth between the two with a footswitch.

I can wrap my head around doing this within an enclosure, but the fact that it needs to be remotely controlled is throwing me off. I can make up a simple PCB for the “clean” channel (I’m thinking a simple 4558 type preamp, but the switching is something I’m jot sure how to approach.

Could I use the Intelligent Realy Bypass to accomplish this?

I’m not clear on how the foot switch wiring would work. Ideally, I’d like a one or two button footswitch, but the wiring is eluding me.

The standard Relay Bypass Module probably isn't the best fit for what you're trying to accomplish, unless the clean channel is going to be always on and the high gain stacks on top of that.

I have an alternate version that could be modified to do what you need and it'd be compatible with most standard two-button footswitches, but I don't have a PCB for it yet.

I wouldn’t mind being a guinea pig. Can I email you and we can discuss it further?
