We cleaned all the jacks, potentiometers and replaced all the tubes of this amazing amp last week. I wanted to show you guys how clean the design is internally. #usa #tubeamp #ClassA #amazing #cali…
From what I've seen the Divided by 13 amps aren't super-original designs - whose are? - So it's probably based on some Matchless or Vox design somewhere. I saw a cool-looking amp of theirs which was a 5E3 Deluxe with a BF front end, so it could have bass and treble tone controls. Not a bad idea. They had finessed the values of the coupling caps to get the basic tone where they wanted it - nothing you can't do yourself.
Have a look at Ceriatone's site for layouts and schematics for twin EL84 amps. I'm sure you'll end up close to getting what you want. Trinity has a decent forum for gleaning info too.
I didn't like how the layout of the Divided by 13 amp linked to above seemed all crammed together. The preamp tubes are very close to each other and I would prefer to space out the transformers too. I'm sure they sound great but it wouldn't hurt to tidy up the layout a bit.
The point is that by looking at Trinity amps and Ceriatone might give you ideas of how to get what you want. And people on the Trinity forums might know more about what you're trying to build.
