Hello Everybody!

(Hi Dr. Nick)

Remember that? Those old episodes still hold up. I recently was notified by Youtube that I got 500 subscribers, me!?!?!, what! How cool is that? It was really great to get some positive news, you see last year sucked for me. In absolutely every flipping way possible it was a pretty bad year for me but the postive side of my life has been putting all of my free time into making videos and doing this hobby. Getting to share my builds with everyone has been profoundly rewarding but has become quite the commitment.

I started to get a little burned out around October and was looking to reboot and what I could do to make this a bit more fun. Then @Pauleo1214 asked me to check out one of his guitars which lead to me making my favorite video of all time and really reset the spark of DIY and pedals again.

I decided I needed to make a change to make certain parts of this easier for me and better for all of you. First up is changing the format of the demo videos, I am currently drawing and learning how to make animated titles. Then will will get to the intro song demo and then the story time painting talking bit and I have a brand new iPhone 14 to use as the overhead camera and it looks sooooo much better than what I was using before. Then we will transition to a "Three cool sounds" section which will be focusing on the pedal and using it with a variety of amps and guitars. I am very fortunate to have some cool amp builds and would like to highlight them with the pedals, plus it will be fun to showcase stuff with a 50 watt plexi on 10.

With the three sounds it is going to make my editing process significantly shorter and will be very beneficial to me.

With the addition of a new overhead camera also comes the new ipad that I have been using to edit with and have been amazing. I use this art program to draw in stupid stuff for the videos on the fly and it is super fun to use. I expect a lot of low brow crude animations in our future.

I also have a myriad of projects to complete this year and playing on documenting everything from baritone neck swap to hydro dipping to pick up swaps to amp repairs to headphone playing to Destiny Behemoth. There is so many neat projects I look forward to including you all with. The Databus project is going to be a very interesting one....

Thank you for all of you who watch these videos and take the time to bullshit with me about them. It means a lot and don't worry there are plenty more cat piano videos coming up. Meow meow meow meow Meow Meow Meow meow meow meow......

I'm a big fan of your videos. Anytime I see the Jake blade make an appearance I do a little dance inside and chase my wife around to show her (she could care less but I find it funny).

You didn't ask for suggestions but.... I am finding that the thing I often want to know about a pedal before I commit is how it stacks with other stuff. So if you were to be one of the 2 or 3 YouTubers who scratches that itch for me I would like and comment even more. Could even be an easy thing to toss in on the "three cool sounds" segment.

Keep up the good work. Don't burn yourself out. You are appreciated.

P.S. I saw your "fancy graphic" and lost it. Impressed.

I've checked out your videos a bunch to see what something sounds like. Keep it up.
Thank you sir! No plan on stopping now, just trying to get better.

You like my fancy graphics? I work a real job and have to handle important documents and for some of the people I give them to i draw fancy artistic drawings just for them. Very similar to my fancy graphics.

You let me know the pairing combo and it will be done.
You know what I found out, if i am crying laughing while making a video it is going to end up being one of my favorites.
I see DK pedals, I click like
I see you and I click like.
1. I like the direction you're going. Ain't nobody got time for twiddling.

2. Hell yeah baritone.
Nobody has time for twiddling, quite literally the drop off is insane. Cutting it out and going to shower you all in cool diy tonez.

Dr Riviera,

I love your content. In such a niche domain, 600 subscribers is immense.
I am glad to hear that you are refactoring to focus on what makes you happy and keeping the passion in what you do.
Please have fun and f*ck the establishment. If you ever make a short (I still don't know what that is. It makes me confused.), make your first one the "do do" clip. Pooh and fart jokes never go out of fashion.

Yours sincerely,

A well wisher and peeping tom.

P.S. I bought your Juice Loosener and my eye balls have never been healthier!

Why's my keyboard sticky?
You found out your erotic kink of a vaginal flutist is a real thing..????
Wow! I got like 20,000 hits on "how to butcher a whole chicken" but hardly anyone subscribed.....
Seriously can’t wait to watch this.

Thank you and my first short will have to be the doo doo. If I can figure out how to doo doo that.

Like what I did there?
Well, I take it back. It was only 15,000 views. And nine years ago. MY how time flies....

Like no bullshit I love watching people do interesting things. Anyone see that dude who mows lawns? Its super relaxing to watch.
And I thought my "Chopping Garlic" was great. pppfffff. Only a few hundred.....
And this
Woohoo, I can’t wait!!
The SuperRat has been a hilariously bungled event from the word go. @jimilee do you mind if I talk about your pedal for a second?

Ehh I am sure he won’t mind.

A while back I asked @jimilee if I could film a demo for his super rat pcb and he was kind enough to send it over.

I plug it in and dial in this sound that kills me!!!! So I get my buddy over and we shoot a video, problem is it was a 30 minute improv and although epic a challenge to present anything remotely.

Next day i film a second take. Turns out I basically just dialed in the original amazing tone and never got away from it.

Third times the charm, a month later, I created a loop out of a part from the green manalishi and solo my balls off. Go through ever tone and clipping options and I am pumped!

Turns out the pedal camera ran out of space and never filmed the knob turning part……

I am thinking fourth time will be the charm. With all of this I can still positively say that it is giving me one of my favorite rock and roll guitar sounds ever into my blackface.

I'm sorry last year was bad for you and I hope 23 is much better! I've watched several of your videos for research and entertainment purpose and I think they've been great. However what you're planning sounds super.

Sounds to me like your making excuses not to return pedal to Jimilee...

Love it. I really like what you do do 💩
Well thank you! Hopefully this ends up being a better format for everyone.

he isn't getting it back..... thats the problem when people send me pedals to demo.

@RetiredUnit1 all of MY favorite videos get very few views. The ones that I don't think are the best, way more views.
