Do I really need two Esquires?

Do you need a guitar body with no neck, hardware, or electronics?

It's simple economics.... You have to build a second one. :ROFLMAO:
Well, yeah

I do have all the other bits on hand, except a control plate and pickguard

So, I've got the bits to finish this all ordered. Hopefully have it together next Friday.

Now to find something compatible with a strat heel

Here's where it's at now. Decided against doing the Eldred mods, as I have a Bass VI, an Argus, and Dead on 67, and I'm almost always on the bridge pickup with the volume and tone cranked anyway 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️
The pickguard isn't an exact match, but it doesnt bother me too much.
Surprised at how good the GFS Fatbody sounds. Very low output compared to the rest of my stable, but I dig it.

Gonna give it a bit to settle before I give it the full setup, but as is it plays and sounds rad

Stop making me gas for a bariquire. I'm already plotting a 4 string bass build because of the mojo goldfoil bass pickups I discovered elsewhere on the forum. I also like my bass vi so much I'm feeling drawn to do a homebrew of that too. Are you putting bass vi strings on any of those with tele bridges? A tele bridge and pickup bass vi is suddenly very compelling. I'm approaching level 2 Vince Meme status.

They prefer the term Bajo Sexquire

None of the Teles are currently strung with VI strings, but the nuts and tuners have been reamed in case I do ever get around to finding strings I can tune that low and give me the sound I want. Reaming the bridge and ferrules won't be terribly difficult at that point

where are you getting the blank control plates? I may have need of one for some....err......future project:)

So that Tele is always on? That would drive me crazy :)
Also, have you no concern for your ribcage and forearm?

But looking real sweet!
Yep, always fullbore. I prefer to control the dynamics with my picking hand and pedalboard.

I've never really gotten the point of tummy and forearm cuts, but I do suppose I play with my guitars strapped kinda low 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

I wouldn't buy a Tele with either a forearm contour or tummy cut. Like DGWVI I don't see the point.

There was a time when I would play a Strat and had no tummy to fill the cut. It looked kinda weird. And when I gigged with a Strat my forearm would stick and slide on the forearm contour in a kind of nauseating way. It was gross!

I like square edges on my guitars so they stay put when I play sitting down. For years I gigged with a Gretsch 6120 and it felt like sitting in a big old comfy armchair. Square edges galore!

I agree with all of this, but I also just love the look of crisp edges with a tight radius
