EAGLE USERS...2026 IS HERE. WHAT TO DO?

You can find the installer for 7.7 online legally and you should be able to install and operate it under the freeware license AFAIK. There are restrictions on the max board size, though.
great tip! unfortunately with my bigger amplifier board designs I'll probably have to learn kicad. It's okay, I'm gonna suck it up and do it.

Real quick, do you know if your MBP V3 libraries work in KICAD? Almost every design of the hundreds I've made has used your footprints so I'd be devastated if they didn't 😫

I still have 7.7 as a backup but made the switch to KiCad. Its different at first but I love it now and find myself trying to use KiCad shortcuts in Eagle, lol. Do yourself a favor and get the sheepylove KiCad library as well. If you learned how to use Eagle well learning KiCad wont be that hard. You know the steps you just have to learn the new way to do it.

Can I import all of my eagle projects into KiCad? I’m guessing not since the libraries aren’t there.
You can. It will import the libraries for that particular project. You select import from non Kicad in the drop down menu and find your eagle files. It’s pretty easy to do.

I switched over to EasyEDA a couple years ago and I really like it. There wasn't too much of a learning curve coming from Eagle and it's got some features that make layout much easier, like when your cursor is over a pad it automatically highlights all the pads on the same net. Very handy!

The big bonus is the integration with JLCPCB, which makes it much simpler to order PCBs and have them assemble the SMD bits. I'm working on some new prototyping helpers for the breadboard and am able to use almost all JLC basic parts, which don't come with a setup charge.

Here's a basic "Klon" buffer, with the other half of the dual opamp buffering the Vref:

And here's just a dual opamp with one more row of pins for a passive VRef (I really hate having to make reference voltages when I'm breadboarding single-supply circuits).
