i’m sure anyone that’s had a browse of the range at effectslayouts has seen this nifty little board.
i only bought it cos i thought it looked cool, and it is cool, but i was never really sure if or when i was going to build it.
but recently i’ve been enjoying building with 1590B, and getting ever fonder of the fuzz face topology.
so eventually it occurred to me i should give this thing the treatment that i gave to the tagboard CE-2 and showcase this board and everything inside with a perspex lid.
but this time instead of using the CDB simple relay bypass, i needed something smaller and used the PedalPCB Basic Relay Bypass.
started the build by breadboarding the circuit, aiming to keep it exactly as per original values printed on the board, and auditioned some lower gain silicon transistors to suit.
the winners:

Q2 - KN3904
its a silicon fuzz face, sounds great, love it.
