Gauss Drive/XB-MB - run higher than 9V?

Quick question: Can the Gauss or XB-MB (roughly the same circuit) run at a higher voltage than 9V?
What is the max limit?

According to the website (https://www.mesaboogie.com/en-US/Pedal/FP.FLUXDRIVE/FP-FLUXDRIVE): '9V Battery Powered or optional AC Powered via External Power Jack Input. WARNING!!! To avoid immediate damage and voiding the warranty, the External Power Supply MUST be 9VDC with a NEGATIVE CENTER plug polarity and a jack plug size of 2.1mm x 5.5mm.'

Clearly they advise against anything higher than 9V. ;)

I don't see why you couldn't run it at 18V for the sake of experiment provided that: 1) your electrolytics are rated at 25V or higher and 2) you don't mind sacrificing your build in the name of science in case it blows up. The other factor TMM would be the maximum voltage of the 4558s, which might or might not be a problem. Perhaps check the data sheet to be sure.

There may not be any immediate advantage in running it higher than 9V. YMMV. Best of luck.

I had a glimpse at the data sheet meanwhile and the 4558's absolute maximum Vin is 18V. I don't know whether or not trying this at higher than 9V is advisable. Perhaps someone better informed will chip in with advice, but I'd be disinclined to do this myself.

Sounds good - someone asked about it on TGP, but I wanted to check here in case someone had discussed it with PPCB's versions.
I'll stick with 9V.
