General Tso’s Compressor

I love this compressor, it's my second favourite (after the Pale Green) but somehow ends up on my board more often because I made it.

Hmm 🤔. I've never really found a use for a compressor but then I read things like this. I've just never really spent any real time with one. I'll be putting in a pcb order soon so will probably add one of these to the list.
It does depend on your playing style, sometimes it makes things sound worse..

Like @szukalski said, it depends on playing style. With really distorted sounds it's not needed because there is already enough compression and the added noise will be terrible. I do a probably 60% of my playing clean and some added compression really evens things out and adds consistency so it sounds like I know how to play. Of course some styles like funk and country chicken pickin really benefits from compression.

That's probably why it's never worked for me. I tend to play with a dirty amp or a dirt pedal into a cleanish amp and then roll back my volume for cleans. I don't really need more compression in that scenario.

Thanks, everybody. And thanks, @fig.

Btw the enclosure was from a LMS powdercoat drop and DAMN I wish I had bought about a dozen of those! Pics don’t do the powdercoat justice. Ah well.
