Basing my guesstimate on RG Keen finding 4–5 matched quad-sets in a sample size of 76 2N5485 JFETs, Vgs all in the upper range of about 2.5-2.6V.

Keen's method (vgs off) using improved jfet matcher (rullywow) with a target range of +/- .02 .
The data sheet for. a 2n5952 lists the vgs(off) range as -1.3v to -3.5v.

I'll throw a few pics up this evening, in case anyone has interest.

Edit: I thought about throwing them on the ground and using that method the Witch Doctor showed me, but I was all out of ground gator teeth.

Now I'm trying to figure out how important it is to match JFETs for any particular project. The only thing people seem to care about is if it's for a phase shifter.

What values are matched or are important and why, depends on the function it is serving in the circuit.

update: so the Rullywow is giving some rully wow numbers, so I will use my trusty DCA75, some instrumental bluegrass, and a doobie. That should yield some pretty far out results itself.
