Guitar projects?

I love hearing about y'all's favorite albums and guitars. I know there are quite a few guitar builders and modifiers on here. I'm curious what you're working on right now?

I picked up this factory second (third? fourth?) for basically nothing:

I've always been obsessed with B.B. King's f-hole-less 'Lucille,' and I'm a huge Jesus & Mary Chain fan.

I stupidly sold an 86' Heritage 335 back in the early 2010s, and I've been jonesing for a noisy feedback machine ever since.

The plan is to cover a symbol on the shiny part of the lower left corner and steel wool the rest of the finish till it looks post apocalyptic, then maybe a Bigsby and slap some Guitar Fetish lipstick humbuckers in, maybe try out the Peavy T-60 wiring setup.

Whatchu working on?

I’m almost done with my latest build. I skipped doing my own finish work and just bought everything separately and put it together.
Bloomdoom body
Allparts neck
Lambertone Blondies (wired for 4 way switch)
I’m diggin it so far. Shoud be pretty equivalent to a Nash but a lot less expensive.

A friend ordered a Warmoth body and they sent the wrong one, so they sent him the correct body and said keep the wrong one, too.

My friend then gifted me this Chinese-factory-made Tele body. I've got all the bits, I think, ahh... except the string-tree. Also, I've misplaced the 5-way switch and nut I was going to use. Project may or may not get love before The Great Leap Backward.

The back is a beautiful solid Orange; I may have to refinish the top to get rid of the blotchy stain work... well, I will, but first just wanna get it built.

That looks really nice! Weight?

I sense a tele-related trend...

Anyway, this is the most recent guitar I made, finished last summer.

Made from hardware store kiln-dried pine and a Schecter neck I bought on eBay (making necks is currently beyond me).

this one was in progress last fall until the weather got too cold and wet to spray a finish and I haven’t yet got back to it yet as I’ve been remodelling the kitchen.

this one is just made from scrap wood that came with the house so it will get a solid finish to hide the ugly. Not sure what pickups or neck just yet.

This one's a collaboration with a mate of mine. He whipped up the body out of a repurposed maple/ walnut cutting board. Hollowed out, and topped / backed with 1/8" aluminum. I made the neck out of oak and maple reclaimed from old shipping pallets, and topped it with a Richlite fretboard. 28.625" scale length

This one's a 30" V made out of oak pulled from a 100+ year old farmhouse. The fretboard is Richlite

Just a poplar Bass VI with jazzmaster horn. It will be getting a 30" scale neck, and a single lipstick humbucker wired straight to the output jack

Trying to build up stock of various baritone necks. The reverse Fender heads fit the Bass VI / JM baritone, the third is 30.327"

Those are great.
I had assemble all the parts to assemble this one last year, and then the pandemic happened, and I wasn't able to go to my friend's shop to properly drill the holes and do some finer work. Will go once curfew is over here, at least I got my appointment for a shot tomorrow.
Also, pedal building happened and got in the way. These days, I trying to refrain from lining up new builds, focusing on finishing the next 5 I already have, troubleshooting a built pedal and hopefully getting to the tele.
I found this Allen Eden body cheap on eBay (because it had a small dent) and it has weird dimensions. The neck pocket still need a bit of work and I need to cut a deluxe pickguard as a regular thin line one didn't fit. I'll put a regular tele bridge with a cheap rail pickup, with a push-pull pot with a coil split option.

A couple more. I call this model the Bridgeburner. First pic is a blank made from lumber salvaged from an old potato shed. The black gooey stuff is ca glue to fill the voids and cracks. The second is a template mockup, trying to come up with a standard feature kinda thing

I love the scrap wood! I'd stain it Gretsch Western Sunset (or whatever they call their orange) and show off the grain, and if people didn't like it they can get Knotted!

There's one @EGRENIER is making for me. It's quite a crazy build:
  • Tele body Nashville-inspired (3 pickups model with body from spaltking.com)
  • Sustainiac pickup
  • Seymoure Duncan Lil '59
  • Seymoure Duncan Duckbuckers
What about some pictures? ;)

I like how @Dali has left out many details that qualify that as a crazy build :D

- First this requires a installation of a sustainiac in a telebody. Pretty much the only body that Alan Hoover recommend not to attempt. The challenge is location of the PCB. It requires to open a back pocket on the body that connects to the traditional electronic pocket in the front.
- The sustainiac also needs a battery, and this will also require a route for the battery holder.
- Then the sustainiac also comes with a AUX-TT board with two mounted on/off switches, also requiring custom drilling and mounting
- @Dali wants a very specific wiring with push-push volume and toggles to split the Lil 59' and Duckbuckers, so standard Sustaniac wiring for HHS can't be match.
- Finally he want's it to be an Egg Plant transparent finish.... now if I can only figure what color is eggplant LMAO.

Here's a few pic of the body (Tele Nashvile Spalted maple), and a mockup of body, neck, pickguards (will require a route for the middle H), birdge and plates...

I'm still wondering what I got myself into :)

Most recent collaboration build. 30.3" scale length Bridgeburner built using reclaimed douglas fir from an old potato shed thats been hollowed out and topped with aluminum. The neck is maple with a cherry back on the headstock, aluminum front plate. and a Richlite fretboard. Control and jack plates are custom cut. Hardware and electronics are Wilkinson brand.
The aluminum plates will be removed to be anodized
