CONTEST Happy New Years Limited Parts Contest

CONTEST
THANK YOU!

Yes, I've edited the schematic and uploaded it to the original post. Oh, and R14 from "390r" to "390Ω" and I changed out the tone stack caps, too, for the helluvit.

☺️

I thought you were talking about "paired" instead of "pared" and "it's instead of "its". Yeesh.

That damn 390k is a hold-over from when I wrote out the circuit by hand while breadboarding it — and it didn't work. I checked everything against my schematic and it was all "correct" ... spent a long time trouble-shooting but since everything was "correct" I didn't see the resistor-tree for the forrest of leads. I gave up and solicited my Amp-sifu's help — he barely saw the schematic and replied immediately with the 390Ω...

So you'd think I would've chec... oh the shame of it all...

I'm just going to go crawl into my hole.

Ahh, it'll do as is. I'd have to print to PDF, then export the PDF to jpeg or png as the forum software doesn't upload PDFs.
I tried it, DIYLC to PDF to jpeg, and the resolution was... not worth spending any more time on it. 😸

Bearded Clam's not even my official entry!

You can also just take a screen shot and paste it in the reply box. I do it all the time.

Okay - ya'll need to look out because Steggi is in the GAME!

Steggi Breadboard BA_TM.jpg

First attempt works... surprising well out of the box so far... I may continue to tweak it, but it's not terribly original. I really like the Black Ash fuzz, but I've found the "Top" (Tone-ish) function doesn't really do a hell of a lot... so I dumped it... and added a flat mids BMP tone stack. The two play together a bit, and I'm not 100% sold on the utility at the extremes of the tone knob... It also loses a little volume, even with the BMP gain recovery stage included in the mix... just barely stays under the limit too... I'll put together the working circuit diagram and post it tomorrow (edit - okay - it's below...)... I've got some "other ideas" as well, though it looks like Feral Feline beat me to the punch in using an IR LED...

Edit: First pass at the circuit diagram - there may be goofs...

Is a pedal design that’s somewhat usleless on its own, but rather helpful when paired with another pedal (ie like an IR loader, remote bypass box etc) be fair game or that considered a “loophole”?

These damned IR LEDs, none of 'em seem to light up!

I can't figure it out, they aren't lighting up but every time I try to snap a picture with my phone, sure as shit, they're lit.

Reminds me of something trippy I noticed one night.... If you look at a Fire Stick remote with a night vision camera it's translucent.

So we concluded that the IR loader is a no go because it would need a digital module.

Otherwise utility pedals are a go!

I figgered at least one of you would know that trick. I've used a digital camera to see if my TV remote is working.

At the TV shop where I used to work I built a little gadget with an IR receiver and a small speaker and installed it in the wall clock. We could point a remote at the clock and it would raise hell if the remote was putting out a signal. Sounded like a ray gun from a 50's sci-fi movie.

Then when they upgraded the security cameras to a digital system we noticed you could see the remote flashing on the monitors, so we just used that.
