Has anyone built the Death by Audio Synthesizer album?

There's a PCB? I though it was pointless to pointless cardboard... šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Just cut one edge and fold it at 90º, then offboard wire the broken traces... 😹
It appeared to me that it’s a standard pcb with the same dimensions as an album jacket, and that there’s both the pcb and a normal album jacket, with them having the same screen printed graphics

I'm wondering if I could substitute another value for the 33uf capacitor in the power supply section. I forgot to order this value. I've got 22 and 47.

My guess is either will do fine for power filtering. The 47 is better for that. This is in parallel with a 100u, so if you could replace that with a larger value that would work too.

I’m in the process of building it and made a full parts list with direct links to Mouser and Stomp Box Parts if anyone is interested. I chose all the most affordable parts to keep the total price down. One thing to note is that a few parts are specific. The rotary switches have to be the metal Alpha unsealed kind to line up with the holes correctly and the jacks need to be the smaller footprint Neutrik style for the same reason.

The pcb is sturdy but the exposed traces on the artwork side are pretty small and delicate. Looks really cool but not the greatest design choice. I plan on building a wooden frame for mine that will cover the bottom and maybe add a clear plastic top too. The pots and knobs go on top with all the components.

Message me if you want the full list.
I recently purchased that album and would love to use your links for the parts, if you still have that available.

Can I message you for full and complete list?

How sturdy does it seem? Have you mounted it on anything or or built an enclosure or just using as is? Can you even mount it with the knobs being on the same side as the components?
I built it. Since it’s a 12ā€x12ā€ chunk of PCB I’d say it is fairly robust unless you decide to populate it, then it becomes unwieldy and prone to damage. Being so large and having abysmal parts placement would make it difficult to put in an enclosure if a large enough one could even be found. Aside from the parts all being on one side with no regard to part height there are several components placed on the very edge. The best option I could imagine is some sort of frame. If you opt for a piece of plex over top, keep in mind that it’ll be easier to figure out hole locations before you put any parts in. There are mounting holes, 2 in the bottom corners and two in the middle-ish on the sides. Also, it does sound like trash, intentionally, I’m sure. image.jpg
