I’m Out…

I found a new job!!

I’ve been looking to take the next step in my career for a long time. COVID put all my job hunting on hold and I was interviewing pre-COVID, but I was able to work 100% remotely which was very fortunate these past 2 years. Now I’ve got to go into the office a couple days a week.

Not sure how much building will get done except maybe on weekends after house projects are done first. I’m still gonna get up early, attempt a workout, and maybe play a bit before I leave for the work day starts. Just thought I’d share what’s going on in my life.

Been back since July 2021. Work is better but my attitude, not so much. I kind of enjoyed being the troll under the stairs in my little basement office.

Pro: Any hands on stuff at work doesn't require a work ticket to get someone else to do it. Eating less. Getting slightly more exercise.

Con: No impromtu naps. I've once again become one with Chicago traffic. My T-shirts that homeless people would be embarrassed to wear are now languishing.

Funny I thought when I moved back into sales, I would have more me time to get some builds done, I've got like ten enclosures ready to go and five of those boards populated, and can't seem to get to them

This is exactly what I’m afraid of!!!

I'm a freelance photographer so the only jobs I've had in the past couple of years have been studio-based product shots. Work has been disappearing for photographers and Covid has just sped the process up. It's taken me a while but I have pretty much got used to being involuntarily semi-retired. Now when I get an email about a job I want to just delete it! "So now you want me?!?"

Well dang BtR. You've been a real source of inspiration and information to me. Not to mention a really groovy guy. 😘I became obsolete before the whole hoedown began, so I'm still hermit-ing...I'm rather good at it though. Maybe I'll do a tutorial

See you next apocalypse then?

The past two years have truly made me despise people. I got to watch lazy people collect money to do nothing at home the first year, then get paid as incentive to go back to work. Then selfish people spread the damn thing cause they are bored, causing it to mutate and drag out longer. Still haven't had a vacation since 2019. I'm over it and thru with people. Luckily I stocked up prior to the pandemic so I could enjoy building still and not cry like some people that they couldn't find things. It's just funny because to most people it's pretty much over, work in a hospital and it's still a thing.
Also @BuddytheReow best of wishes at your new job.
I would have despised people 30 days in and quit after another 30. Maybe that’s why I’m in accounting….

If you're into songwriting, you've probably got seed for a whole album there. A really angry sounding album.

Hope you get a vacation, dude. I'd've quit that by now too, like @BuddytheReow said.

If I didn't have kids and a mortgage I would have left. But can't leave the fam high and dry. I know there are lots of people who have it worse. I got into healthcare to help people, but at this point I don't care how many people die.

Now I'm imagining Samuel L. Jackson's bedside manner..
Just remember- there's always accounting.

Or Engineering.

If I can do it, anyone can.

Could I be an engineer too? I do like me some choo-choo. We rode something called The Dinosaur Train in the MTNs when my grandson was small. My gosh I thought it would never end. 100º open car with the crappy speaker...you know the one...torn cone and "hand-wired" with gum as a connector.....BLASTING a cartoon theme for 2.5 hours while all manner of critter under the height of 2 ft screamed out of tune and no where near harmony.

On second thought....I'll just stick to being useless.
