If you were to build one fender amp

I'm looking for a winter/summer break project! I really love the sound of a blackpanel princeton but don't feel like shelling out $800+. A super reverb would be so cool, but tooooo loud. Personally, I just play at home and would like something quieter. Right now, I'm just running a blues jr with a crex keeping it clean (looking to change tone stack on it). I would love to run two amps in stereo😏.

Anyways, if you guys could build only one fender amp, which would it be?

63 Vibroverb 2x10 is on my list
This is largely what I have, an Allen Encore 2 x10. (Built from one of David’s kits.) I think it’s pretty damn perfect—you have good taste! But yes, even sourcing all parts and scratchbuilding, would still break $1000. Allen’s take has a raw control that fades the tone stack out, which takes the amp from black to brown, into tweed. Bias trem, and reverb with tone control. Can also take both 6L6 and 6v6.

I did the reverb deluxe this summer and couldn’t be happier. The deluxe reverb was far more challenging than the 5e3 I did in 2021,but that was a really fun build too! You could always save some money and do just the head if you have a cabinet that has the correct speaker.

I’ve had the Weber 5E3 in a cart the better part of the year. I live about 45 minutes from them and want to just go pick up a kit every time I’m close. They do an awesome music fest each summer- saw SonVolt a few years ago there. 👍🏼

My next one, a Bassman with a couple mods from Rob Robinette's site. Duel bias pots and a three way NFB. I drew this in Visio.

It's hosted on postimg.com. It's a weird site, you have to go to the site to get a fairly decent view, but then you have to right mouse button click on open in a new tab to get the full 5MB picture.

🥵🥵🥵🥵

Every time I think about trinity's b15 kit, I have to remember that I have "baby SVT" VT-22 that I keep trying to sell

The more I talk about it the more rationalizing I'm doing..

I mean, right now they're just taking deposits, that's $392 right now - not terrible. The other $500 in a few months is reasonable, right?

And, I mean, I have a nice 4x10, so it's not like I won't be able to use it. A new Ampeg portaflex is like $500 and the could be fine. The Trinity portaflex cabinet is $800 and doesn't have a speaker, but I could always do that down the line if I wanted to be crazy.

Man, it's a good thing I'm not drinking right this minute... 🤣
