In Transit…

So I checked the tracking on my last Small Bear order.

October 15: accepted in Brooklyn
October 16: arrived at regional facility in Springfield, MA. So far so good.
October 17: arrived and departed from processing facility in Charleston, WV —WHAT?!

It says it supposed to arrive today (18th) but I know those estimates are never accurate these days. I just really hope my $150 order doesn’t get delivered 600 miles away from me. That would really suck.

I have never had a lost shipment. Late shipments, definitely. Push comes to shove you can always reach out to small Bear and let them know what happened

I've had USPS shipments go on all sorts of crazy detours lately. One that was headed to NJ decided to go cross-country to Oregon before come back to the east coast....

That last shipment of FV-1 ICs came from Arizona, made it all the way to Florida, then went back to Arizona, back to Florida, then to Georgia....

These stories are making me a feel a bit more hopeful that I’ll get it eventually…
I had an order go quickly from small bear to Detroit (I’m in Michigan). Detroit sent it to Texas. Then it was unaccounted / lost for over a week. Then it showed up at my house. So 2 days to go from New York to Detroit. Then 12 days from Detroit to my house 30 miles away.

I posted a couple of pedals yesterday - one to Virginia and one to Vancouver. While at the post office the guy behind the counter told me that everything is so slow because there just aren't the flights at the moment. When air travel is normal they have loads of ways to get stuff around the world, but because the number of flights is so much lower right now their options are way more limited.

So I guess that might help explain some of this. But he also mentioned that he was tracking one parcel that spent nine weeks on the tarmac at a Canadian airport. Damn!

And then you have people like Louis spreading "De Joy"...

I've had an order from aliexpress go back and forth between the US and China 4 times now since August. Each time it would make it to the US regional sorting center and then be returned. This time around it looks like it may have landed in the US on the east coast and appears to have made it from NY to CA and will hopefully be delivered tomorrow.

It is now “in transit, arriving late”. Based on past experience, there will be fewer updates until it’s back on track.

I love how it took one day to get to Charleston but it’s probably gonna take a week to get back.

Order has even received. All looks well and everything is accounted for.

I ordered enclosures, the parts for the Bear Boost, some Japanese germaniums, every kind of JFET, a few IC’s I want to have, some germanium diodes, and some silicon diodes.

I am looking forward to possibly placing another order for more germanium stuff at some point, and possible blowout pricing on common components.
