It's my birthday and I am drunkenly shoving an Electra into my Mustang

Post #20 FREQ'N RnR!!!

What's that other 'n? SG?

Also, you can get coin battery holders for cheap and crazy-hot-glue 'm onto the pickguard... Heck, might even be able to use ones that will load 'm in from the front without having to take the pickguard off.

Cover 'm with a middle-finger-sticker "🖕" or two "✌️" (facing either way)... or other appropriate-to-the-guitar sticker

Finally, some photos! As you can see, I had to take a good amount of wood out of the guitar and have a swimming pool route now. How do you like my battery pack? 😂
I think this is the first time I've seen a guitar with a Le Creuset sticker on it. Pretty cool project! Is one of the switches used to connect/disconnect the batteries from the Electra? Or did you use the old stereo jack trick?

The mini toggle is a bypass; power comes on when you plug in. Stereo jack, precisely!

@Feral Feline good eye, that is in fact a Derek Trucks SG on loan from a friend. I couldn't find any three coin cell holders... Have you come across any?

No, but you can take three singles and wire them together and glue/screw them to the pickguard.

I'd recommend these:

I have one and it would take a jump off an amp-stack or severe stage-diving to dislodge the battery from within if you orient it correctly on the pickguard;
the prongs stick out the bottom make for easy wiring three of them together. Will be more low-profile than any 3-cell stackers you may find.

A few other choices at tayda.

Love SGs. Dig Mr Trucks, too.

I'm using 6 coin cells to get a bigger power bank, so to speak. If I could find two "3-pack" holders that would work too, but 6 singles is too much. I looked for rechargeable batteries, but it's hard to find a nice flat one. Eventually, when I have some money to spend and the desire, I'll route a shallow hole in the back for a Fishman battery pack

Have you checked at adafruit.com for rechargeable batteries and such? They have a good selection although most of them are 3.7V.
