SOLVED J201 Pinout Translation

Hi folks

I am building a Son of Ben Preamp from a Musikding kit.

The kit is supplied with SMD transistors for the three J201 parts required and has some kind of conversion daughterboard to make soldering easier. However I am new to SMD devices and also not amazing with layouts/schematics so wanted to check that I have this the right way round.

Her's my question - I assume I solder the SMD board to the adaptor board as in my second pic above. Do I then orient it THIS WAY ROUND on the main PCB or the OTHER WAY ROUND? Thanks!!

If you look close at the traces on the pcb and the adapter board, I think you can see what’s connected to what. As long as you get the gate right (the one-pin side) you should be good.

Looks to me like the gate pin is on the right on both. So the way you have it looks correct to me.

The board also has the option to solder SMT transistors directly to the main PCB rather than using the adapter board. Either will work fine though, and what you have proposed looks right
