Since building the Particle Accelerator, I decided that a tube overdrive would be a great addition and built a King Nothing as well. The only issue I encountered is that the input distorts too easily as I use active pickups. So, I decided to make a couple of changes to the input stage of the KN. I changed the J201 to a 2n5458 and also changed R3 (82k) to 33k. I also swapped out R2 (68k) with a 22V zener diode in its place. This allowed me to get the bias that I needed. I can now hit the front end of this with my EMG Pickups and it does not distort due to over-range on the gate of the JFET. I also get a slight boost over the original configuration when the mode 2 option is selected (bypass cap engaged in the source of the JFET). I'm really enjoying this pedal. It goes well with my Particle Accelerator for a simple clean/dirty ampless rig. Thanks vigilante398 for the awesome boards!
