Mach 1 - First Build

My first finished build! I ordered the board over a year ago now and ordered most of the components, but I was confused by the capacitors and didn't order those. Then life happened, and I never finished ordering everything. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago and I decided to give it another try. I got the final components and finished soldering everything together.

I plugged it in and ... nothing. I got bypass signal but no signal or light when engaged. I spent a few hours trying to figure it out, started a trouble-shooting thread, and finally figured out that the A and K for the LED actually mean something. I reversed the LED and that did the trick. It works!

I like how the pedal sounds. The knobs all have pretty good range. Higher drive settings introduce noise, so I think it's best with all the knobs around noon, at which point it is a pretty subtle effect but makes everything sound a little better. A slightly gritty boost.

Looking forward to the next one!

Nice build and nice report. Looks clean and I see you went in from the top for the LED. I have not seen those type of labels on anything since maybe the eighties. It works!

Looks great! It's hard to tell from the picture, but how much clearance is there between the output jack and the volume pot? The "tip" portion of the output jack does move a bit when the cable is inserted/removed. You might want to do that with the back cover off so you can see how much clearance you have. I recommend putting dust covers (aka "pot condoms") on your pots (such as these).
