So, I got this idea reading another post about using neodymium magnets to hold a pedal on a pedal board. I had some very small magnets and they really didn't fit the screw head, so the magnet didn't make direct contact. I bought these larger ones which are 20mm wide, 5mm tall and have a 5mm wide countersunk hole.
The screws fit below the surface now and it does make good contact. I'm going to coat them with a very thin layer of silicone to see if that keeps them steady enough to stay in position after stepping on the switch.
But it's time to make dinner now, chicken soup tonight. More later!
